Tyler J. Welch, an up-and-coming dark fiction and horror author based in Wisconsin, approached me seeking a comprehensive visual identity for his publishing imprint, Asphodel Press LLC. He sought a captivating cover design for his debut novel, "End Realm," destined to stand out amidst the diverse array of local authors and independently published works both in physical stores and online. Collaboratively, we crafted a visual identity that resonated with Tyler and his intended readership, ensuring a compelling connection between author and audience.

Asphodel Press LLC
Drawing from Tyler's genre, I delved into conceptualizing logo designs incorporating motifs of death, the afterlife, Greek mythology, asphodel flowers, and skulls. Our shared visual inspiration leaned towards cinematic aesthetics, evoking the atmosphere of horror films and the surreal quality akin to a haunting dream. An eerie and dynamic visual identity was crafted for his imprint.

End Realm Book Cover Design
The visual style of Tyler’s debut novel, End Realm, draws inspiration from video game concept art, characterized by vast, desolate landscapes with compelling focal points that capture the viewer's attention. The color palette—a blend of blue, red, and sulfur yellow—creates a striking contrast between warm and cool tones, evoking the dynamic appearance of a day cycle within the End Realm.
After the illustration was approved, I provided the final cover artwork and the interior layout for the hardcover edition with a dust jacket, as well as the paperback and ebook editions. We worked together to upload files to Barnes & Noble Press, IngramSpark, and Amazon KDP and collaboratively proofed and made edits to the first printed draft before the final files were provided to each vendor.
